Nato Darhia is Full Professor at Ilia State University, Tbilisi, Georgia. She graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Biology in 1991. She obtained her PhD degree in 1995 and the degree of Doctor of Sciences in 2006 from the Georgian Academy of Sciences. In 2001 she completed 5 months training at the Gui de Chauliac Hospital, Montpellier, France. In 2002-2004 she was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Davis. In 2011-2014 she was a Georgian coordinator of the partnership project between Ilia State University and University Hospital of Geneva, and a co-organizer of sleep training summer schools in Georgia. Her scientific interests are focused on sleep and brain maturation, sleep and stress, sleep disorders. She completed several research projects, received a number of national and international awards and has published several peer-reviewed articles. In 2017 she was elected as the Research Fellow of the Georgian National Academy of Science.
