Nino Pochkhidze, MS, is a PhD student of Doctoral Program “Cellular Neuroscience” at Ilia State University and Researcher at the Department of Brain Ultrastructure and Nanoarchitecture, Ivane Beritashvili Center of Experimental Biomedicine. Nino Pochkhidze’s scientific interest is the effects of inhalants with addictive properties on the brain. Using various behavioral, morphological, ultrastructural and nanobiological approaches, she investigates short and long-term consequences on toluene chronic exposure in animals of different age groups (PhD research). Nino Pochkhidze is also actively involved in Autism Research (Rodent Propionic Acid Model of Autism), Studies of the Effects of Chronic High Intensity White Noise on the Brain and Multidirectional Effects of Aging. Nino Pochkhidze is awarded with Presidential Grant for Young Scientists, Sigma Xi Grant in Aid Research, USA (twice) Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation PhD Grant and more than 35 travel grants from organizing committees of international scientific meetings. Nino ochkhidze is the participant of nine scientific grants funded by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. Nino Pochkhidze was organizing committee member at several international scientific symposiums and schools (2013-2022).
Nino Pochkhidze is an author of more than 25 scientific articles, published in prestigious Georgian and foreign scientific journals and editions. She is a member of Ivane Beritashvili Young Scientists Club (Head), Georgian Neuroscience Association (GNA), Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS), Georgian Society of Physiologists, Federation of European Neuroscience Society (FENS), International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), International Society for Neurochemistry (ISN), European Academy of Neurology Society (ENS), American Academy of Neurology Society (AANS), European Academy of Radiology (EAR), International Center for Neuroscience Research and Sigma Xi.
